PUNCTUM NEWS – LICENSE TYPES

All content on Punctum News is available under one of two license types: Editorial Use License or Personal Use License. Below are the full terms and conditions for each.

 

1. Editorial Use License

This license is intended for news reporting, journalistic publications, educational use, or other non-commercial editorial contexts.

✅ You can:

  • Use the content in newspapers, magazines, news websites, blogs, or educational platforms.

  • Publish on social media in an editorial/newsworthy context.

  • Use in non-commercial documentaries, opinion pieces, or editorial broadcasts.

  • Include in presentations, reports, or academic research (with appropriate credit).

❌ You cannot:

  • Use the content for advertising, promotions, or commercial endorsements.

  • Alter the content beyond cropping/resizing for layout. Editing that changes the context or meaning is strictly prohibited.

  • Use the content to imply endorsement by the photographer or Punctum News.

  • Resell, redistribute, or license the content to third parties.

When possible, credit must be given as:
PhotographerName / PUNCTUM NEWS or PhotographerName / PUNCTUM

 

2. Personal Use License

This license allows individuals to download and use content for non-commercial, private use only.

✅ You can:

  • Use the content for personal projects like blog posts, private inspiration boards, or school assignments.

  • Print for home decoration, study/reference, or archival use.

  • Use as backgrounds or illustrations in non-commercial digital content.

❌ You cannot:

  • Use the content for any commercial or editorial publication (print or digital).

  • Sell, license, or redistribute the content to others.

  • Modify the content in a way that misrepresents its original context.

  • Use the content in merchandise, advertisements, or any promotional material.

? Attribution Encouraged:

While not required for personal use, giving credit to the photographer helps support their work.

  • All content is copyrighted. Licenses grant usage rights—not ownership.

  • Unauthorized use of any content outside the terms of the license may result in legal action.
